The Make Over – Why?

Having a makeover was a big decision for me.  Being ill for a number of years, I tried my best to not let it get the best of me, but last year it did and I’m only just realising how much.  I’ve always wanted to be ‘me’ and until I became ill, I was.  Sometimes though, I think illness effects you in ways you couldn’t imagine and don’t realise, until it has happened.  I started to believe that the pain, being practically housebound and feeling exhausted, (among other things), was all that defined me.  I saw no point in dressing nice, taking care of my skin or feeling good about myself.

That has changed.

I have the right to feel nice, look nice and take pride in who I am, even though I am ill and can’t go out, even though I’m in pain.  So, I decided and I have started!

I have bought, courtesy of my wonderful husband, a new wardrobe of clothes, new make up, skin care, coat, hair care, lingerie, handbags and shoes.

I am obsessed with everything beauty and fashion!  I’m so excited, it is ridiculous! Like a kid in a sweet shop, with free reign! Feeling already as if I have turned a corner.  Yes, the pain will still be there.  Yes, I will still be stuck in doors and still have all the same symptoms.  There will be a huge difference though, I will feel better about myself, my illness will not define me, I will.

My only decision now is what do I do first?

I can understand your excitement and I hope the make-over will refresh you and make you feel fabulous. Do you ever get to go out or is the pain too bad? I really feel for you.

Thank you, how very kind of you to say.

I get out every now and then, but generally appointments or to see my mum, but only with my husband and stick. Not the end of the world really, I have a really good life and am very lucky with my husband, family and friends.

Thank you for having a read and taking the time to comment. hope you have a fabulous day!
